WATFORD have failed in a bid to bring Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic to Vicarage Road.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina keeper has been the subject of intense transfer speculation this month - and now The Hornets have been rebuffed in their efforts.
The Telegraph are reporting that Watford offered £10million and current number one Heurelho Gomes for Begovic, which was rejected.

It is believed Chelsea are willing to sell Begovic, but want a replacement brought in at the same time. Gomes, however, appears not to be the one they have in mind.

Watford are on the lookout for another keeper after Costel Pantilimon was ruled out with injury for three to four weeks, but selling Gomes may come as a surprise to fans of the Hertfordshire outfit.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have become resigned to the fact that Begovic wants first-team football, and have switched their attentions to Celtic's Craig Gordon as a number two.
