Mandzukic would join Man Utd ‘without thinking twice’ with Juventus striker ‘crucial’ part of Dybala Lukaku swap deal
MARIO MANDZUKIC has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And it has emerged that the Croatian striker has become a crucial makeweight in the £90million transfer swap deal involving Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala and United striker Romelu Lukaku.
Meanwhile, Old Trafford chiefs are ready to tempt Argentine Dybala with a £12m-a-year mega-wage deal.
Mandzukic could move to United in a transfer expected to be worth up to £13.7m.
The arrival of Maurizio Sarri as Juve boss has meant the Croat is unlikely to stay in Turin.
The Old Lady are trying to force out Dybala as they are desperate to beat Italian rivals Inter Milan to the signing of Belgium frontman Lukaku.
But Mandzukic, 33, is expected to be key to this deal going through.
The striker has indicated to United he would not "think twice" about coming to Manchester.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, he would love a crack at the Premier League as his career enters its final swansong.
It would not be the first time United have signed a thirtysomething striker.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a revelation in his one season at Old Trafford despite approaching his 36th birthday when he joined from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
Mandzukic is waiting for the developments from the negotiations between Juve and United.
Solskjaer has been targeting younger players but the prospect of getting veteran campaigner Mandzukic on the cheap could sweeten the deal involving Lukaku and Dybala.
