WEST HAM boss David Moyes is in talks with Lyon's former French international midfielder Clement Grenier.
Moyes has contacted Grenier with the offer of a three-year deal and hopes he will sign a pre-contract despite interest from Inter Milan.
Grenier is a free agent in the summer and Hammers could pick him up now for £1million if they can agree a fee with Lyon.
The classy midfielder has wanted out of Lyon for the last couple of seasons.
He had a spell on loan with Roma in Serie A.
Moyes is in the market for bargains to boost his small squad and he is personally pushing for this move to go through in the next few days.
Injuries have plagued the Hammers, with Andy Carroll the latest to join the list with a hairline fracture sidelining him for three months.
His injury has ruled out his rumoured move to Chelsea but leaves Moyes desperately short of options.
Antalyaspor have reportedly offered a lifeline after confirming former Premier League attacker Samir Nasri will leave the club and have reached out to the London club.
Samir has only been with the Turkish side for six months after six years at Man City and a comeback to England is believed to be his main ambition.
