EVERTON have emerged as shock rivals to Arsenal for the capture of Julian Draxler.
The Gunners are interested in signing the wantaway German playmaker in a big-money move from Schalke.
But Ronald Koeman is using Everton's new-found wealth to try and land Draxler in what would be a huge statement of intent.
Wolfsburg insist their star winger is going nowhere despite the 22-year-old telling the media he is determined to leave this summer.
If the Bundesliga outfit refuse to budge, suitors would have to meet Draxler's £63million buy-out clause.
Arsene Wenger is unlikely to shell out that much cash for an attacking midfielder which would leave Everton well placed to make a move.
