Everton reject Chelsea’s British record Romelu Lukaku bid as they hold out for £75million
Blues see improved offer rejected with Toffees chiefs refusing to budge on huge asking price for star striker
EVERTON have snubbed Chelsea's British record Romelu Lukaku bid, according to reports.
The Blues are desperate to bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge after Real Madrid insisted top target Alvaro Morata was staying put.
But The Mirror claim Toffees chiefs turned down an improved £68million offer and are holding out for £75m.
Everton know Lukaku, 23, has hit heart set on leaving the club as he seeks to prove himself as a world-class striker.
The Belgian international swapped Stamford Bridge for Goodison Park in a £28m deal two years ago after impressing on loan spells with West Brom and Everton.
Lukaku has since hit 45 goals in 84 games for the club to catch the eye of Blues boss Conte.
But the Italian will have to smash the £59.7m Manchester United paid for flop Angel Di Maria two years ago.
Chelsea will offer Lukaku a huge long-term contract if they manage to agree terms with Everton.
Conte admitted last week that he was not sure if Diego Costa would be at the club next season.
