ROMELU LUKAKU is closing in on a sensational Chelsea return after Everton conceded defeat in their bid to keep him, according to reports.

Chelsea's rejected bid is more than double the £28m Jose Mourinho received for the Belgian international, 23, in 2014.

And if Lukaku is to get a second chance at Stamford Bridge, the Blues will have to significantly up their bid.
