Deal for midfielder all but done done but clubs haggling over who pays Mino Raiolo commission

MANCHESTER UNITED have upped their bid for Paul Pogba to £95million to force the world record deal over the line.

But United are now fighting Juventus over who pays the agent fees before they get the all-clear to clinch the signing of the France midfielder.

United have come up with the £95m figure after Juve rejected a £93m offer, and with add-ons the total figure will be close to £105m.

It is understood the personal terms have already been agreed for the 23-year-old to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford worth £11m-a-year.

But the stumbling block is who pays the 20 per cent commission of Pogba's super agent Mino Raiola.

Both clubs accept the Italian is due around £20m from the mega deal which will dwarf the figures Real Madrid paid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Yet Juve are playing hardball and insist United must pay the full amount to Raiola, while the Premier League club want the Italian side to contribute.

Raiola already stands to make a fortune from United this summer, having already negotiated the transfer of two of his players to Old Trafford.

He was instrumental in pushing the £30million capture of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the north-west from Borussia Dortmund.

And he also helped bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic in on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Juve believe they are in a strong position because they know how desperate United are to finally get the transfer done.

They have made it known that their own £79m capture of Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli is not dependent on them selling Pogba.

But United believe the Serie A club do need to money from this deal to help finance their Higuain signing and want them to help pay Raiola's fees.

Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri has already grown so tired of the Pogba talk dominating his pre-season he has banned any mention of it.

The Italian giants play Tottenham at the MCG tomorrow in the final game of their trip Down Under.

When asked for an update on the situation at his pre-match Press conference this morning, Allegri said: “I am not going to talk about the transfer market news we are just here to get ready.

“The club is going to talk about the transfer market and they are doing very well so I am happy in that regard.”
