Manchester United shirt numbers 2016/17: Zlatan Ibrahimovic gets Anthony Martial’s number with No 6 shirt kept free for Paul Pogba

The £105million Frenchman Paul Pogba wore the number at Juventus before he moved on to the No 10

MANCHESTER UNITED have released their shirt numbers for the upcoming 2016/17 season, with the No 6 shirt being suspiciously free for Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman is closing in on his world-record £105million move from Juventus, with latest reports that he has agreed personal terms to re-join the club that he left in 2012.

Pogba was the No 6 at Juventus before taking the No 10 shirt.

The mercurial Swede, Zlatan Ibrahimovic,who moved on a free transfer from PSG, takes over Anthony Martial's No 9. Martial moves to No 11, taking forgotten man Adnan Januzaj's No 15.

Centre-back Eric Bailly, who signed for £30million from Villarreal this summer, takes the No 3, while fellow new boy Henrikh Mkitaryan will wear the No 22.

Fresh from getting his own place in United's senior dressing room, wonderkid Marcus Rashford gets a new number too – he will wear No 19 this season.  The 18-year-old, who broke into the United squad last season, was No 39 last term.
