Premier League champions come from behind to win as they prepare to defend crown

LEICESTER paraded their Premier League trophy as they came from behind to win their first match since lifting the title.

Claudio Ranieri’s men were boosted by the news just before kick-off that captain Wes Morgan had signed a new three-year contract with the club.

And there was more celebration before kick-off as Gary Lineker carried the Premier League tophy around Oxford’s Kassam Stadium for the League One club’s fans to see.

But on the pitch Oxford refused to roll over and they took the lead on 15 minutes when Chris Maguie fired home from long-range.

Riyad Mahrez played the first 45 minutes despite talk of a move to Manchester City or Chelsea

Ranieri fielded a strong side and it was no surprise when they levelled midway through the opening half through Demari Gray.

Riyad Mahrez looked lively on his first outing of pre-season showing no signs that talk of a move to Manchester City or Chelsea was on his mind.

And Leicester secured the win in the second half as Jeffrey Schlupp found the back of the net on 67 minutes with a low drive.
