Everton agree deal to snatch Leicester super-scout Steve Walsh from Premier League champions

Ronald Koeman signs the man who took Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante to King Power Stadium

EVERTON have pulled off a real coup by taking Leicester City star-maker Steve Walsh to Goodison.

Walsh is the man who is credited for taking Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante to Leicester – two players who were instrumental in the Foxes winning the Premier League.

And Everton hope he can be similarly successful at Goodison Park, confident he is one of the best talent spotters in the business.

And the new Director of Football’s first job will be to clinch the signing of centre back target Kalidou Koulibaly as John Stones’ replacement.

The £30 million-rated Senegal defender is the man they want to replace their Manchester City-bound star, and new chief Ronald Koeman is keen to land a replacement before that goes ahead.

Yet although Everton will have around £150m to spend once their England defender leaves, they face stiff competition.

Chelsea are also keen on the Napoli central stopper, while Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the situation.

While that battle rages on, tempting Walsh to Merseyside – the announcement should come tomorrow morning – is a huge sign of intent by new Everton money-man Farhad Moshiri.
