Jose Mourinho acting like Paul Pogba’s £105million transfer to Manchester United transfer from Juventus is ‘already done’
France star is expected to return to Old Trafford four years after leaving the club... but Italians claim no bid has been received
JOSE MOURINHO is acting as though Paul Pogba is already a Manchester United player – even though the club are apparently yet to make an official bid for the France star.
According to French sports newspaper , sources close to the new United boss say the manager is acting like the Juventus midfielder is already part of his squad in terms of planning for next season.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola and United chief Ed Woodward are still locked in talks over the player, who is valued at £105million by the Italian giants, but the Red Devils are expected to lodge a bid for the French star imminently.
Woodward is said to have hesitated slightly on the deal because he is unsure if the former United star, 23, is keen to return to Old Trafford.
Raiola was in talks with United chiefs last week over the France international’s personal terms.
Despite this, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is confident Pogba will remain in Turin for next season.
Speaking about the future of the French player and former Untied star Patrice Evra, Allegri said: "They are both Juventus players, and I hope they will stay. I am counting on Pogba."
Should the Pogba transfer saga eventually end in defeat for United, they could turn their attentions to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
But it is thought Mourinho may even try to sign Matuidi as well as Pogba.
Juventus are lining up Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic to replace Pogba should he make the move to United.
