Leroy Sane to Manchester City: Club agree personal terms for Schalke midfielder as £42m move edges nearer
German whizkid finally ends summer transfer saga by agreeing to four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium
MANCHESTER CITY have agreed personal terms with Leroy Sane, according to reports.
The Schalke playmaker, 20, is set to join Pep Guardiola‘s Etihad revolution on a four-year deal.
Sane will cost City about £42million but a solid fee is yet to be decided, according to .
The youngster impressed last season, earning a callup with Germany to the Euros, and has been on Guardiola’s radar since the Spaniard’s time as Bayern Munich boss.
City fought off Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain to land the highly rated playmaker.
Sane will become the Etihad club’s fifth signing of the summer after Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aaron Mooy.
Schalke had previously told City their versatile star – who can play on either flank and down the centre – was NOT for sale unless he handed in a transfer request.
Guardiola is transforming the Premier League giants into what he believes to be a title winning squad.
Sane, who scored nine goals in 43 appearances last season, is a nightmare for defences with his strong dribbling technique.
Germany boss Joachim Low brought him on as a substitute for Bastian Schweinsteiger against France in the Euros semi-final loss.
Meanwhile, City are closing in on a stunning £53m transfer for John Stones.
The move is likely to go through later this week.
