According to , it was thought that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was seen as back-up in case Pogba did not move to Old Trafford.

But now the Special One wants both players to join his red revolution that could see up to eight players sold.

And the money for that would go into splashing out a world record £100million on Juventus star Pogba, 23.

But United still must convince Pogba to come back to the club he left on a free transfer back in 2012.

The massive fee and the £78m in wages Pogba would receive are thought to be enough to get Mourinho's prime target.

But the man himself is thought to still be holding out for his preferred move to Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona.

However, there have been reports in Spain that Madrid are now being priced out of a deal by United.

The incredible nine-figure fee would break the current record of £86m Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale in September 2013.

Pogba and Matuidi were both involved in the French national team's heartbreak as Portugal beat them 1-0 to win Euro 2016 on their home turf.

But now the tournament is over deals are more likely to be made which could see two of the brightest stars in world football in the Premier League next season.
