Derby v Brighton: Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson says he is feeling recharged after a year out of the game
NIGEL PEARSON insists he is feeling recharged after his year out of football.
The former Leicester boss will be back in the dugout today, when new side Derby host Brighton.
And he is hoping to repeat his Foxes heroics.
Pearson led his old club to the Championship title in 2014 and kept them in the Premier League the following season.
But the former defender was sacked by the Premier League champions last June and only returned to the game when he accepted the Rams’ job offer in May.
Pearson, 52, said: “I don’t think people appreciate at the time how demanding football management can be at times.
“I was probably more mentally weary than I thought I was going to be — but it’s OK.

He added: “I had opportunities to come back last season but chose not to.
“I didn’t actively seek to be linked with jobs.
“Whether the break has done me good, I don’t know, I’ll have to wait and see, I hope so.
