Fantasy football: What will Naby Keita bring to the Premier League next season?

  • Liverpool have announced the signing of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig
  • What will he bring to fantasy football?

Naby Keita will finally be a Liverpool player this season after Reds and fantasy football fans alike had to wait a year for his arrival at Anfield.

The Guinean midfielder has linked up with his teammates one season after the transfer was initially agreed with Bundesliga club RP Leipzig, in a deal believed to be worth around £50million.

Having been a star performer in Germany's top division for the past few seasons, Keita's arrival representatives a significant coup for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The 23-year-old has been handed the No8 shirt, previously worn by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Keita is expected to thrive under any pressure placed upon him and continue the impressive form that has led to him becoming one of Europe's most sought-after talents.

The new arrival will slot straight into Klopp's starting eleven and is likely to be given license to express himself in midfield alongside fellow new arrival Fabinho.

Keita, who has scored eight goals in 29 appearances for Guinea, initially rose to stardom with RB Salzburg.

Following his successful spell in Austria, the midfielder made the move to sister-club RB Leipzig in 2016.

He became an immediate hit in Germany, scoring eight and assisting the same number in 31 Bundesliga appearances in his first season.

Having shone in Germany's top flight, Keita was on the radar of many of Europe's elite clubs before Liverpool announced a deal had been agreed last summer.

What could Keita bring to your fantasy football team?

According to Dream Team's ratings provider , Keita had a very successful season in all competitions with Leipzig at 7.37.

The 23-year-old was also the 13th highest rated player in the Bundesliga at 7.24.

Keita stands out when compared to Liverpool's midfield options last season, having achieved a higher average rating than Klopp's players in his position.

Only Phillipe Coutinho (8.03), Mohamed Salah (7.69) and Roberto Firmino (7.39) scored higher than Keita from Liverpool's squad in all competitions.

So, what will he cost on Dream Team?

Keita is an absolute bargain by the looks of things, priced at just £3m which is less than the likes of Phil Jones and Victor Moses.

How does Premier League fantasy football work?

Every single season the Premier League gets more intriguing - and playing Dream Team really is the perfect way to enhance your experience of it.

You'll be assigned a total budget of £50m for each side you pick and you'll be able pick a maximum of 10 free teams.

The Game Weeks run from Friday to Thursday, effectively meaning the new Game Week starts after the last Europa League games are completed.

You get three transfers a month on the first Friday of every month so using them wisely is essential.

Every player on the game will be assigned a price at the start of the season which will then vary and fluctuate on a weekly basis dependent on their performances.

For example, last season we valued Mo Salah at £4m at the start of the season but the Egyptian King rocketed to over £11m by the end after his stunning goalscoring form.
