Cristiano Ronaldo’s Dream Team Euros price revealed – overpriced or value for money?

This is the big one.

As Dream Team Euros inches ever closer - sign-up and prototype team creation is available from May 14th - we've decided to leak Cristiano Ronaldo's price to get the juices flowing.

Yesterday we revealed that in our summer fantasy football offering.

And today we can confirm that Portugal's all-time top scorer will cost exactly the same - £7.0m!

It goes without saying that we're talking about two high-end options here but Ronaldo and Kane AREN'T the joint-most expensive players this summer - you'll have to wait a little longer to find out who holds that accolade.

With 103 goals in 173 caps, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is the second-highest scorer in the history of international football.

Ronaldo needs just six more goals to draw level with Iran's Ali Daei at the top of the rankings and if he does that at Euro 2020 then Portugal will be in contention to retain their crown.

At 36 years old, he is in the latter stages of his esteemed career but experience has proven invaluable when it comes to his pursuits on the international stage.

He has scored 48 goals in 50 games for Portugal since the start of 2016.

His record speaks for itself

Only Golden Boot winner Antoine Griezmann scored more goals than Ronaldo at Euro 2016 as Fernando Santos' side triumphed despite their star player limping off 25 minutes into the first half.

In many ways, Portugal are a better side now than when they lifted the trophy five years ago.

The emergence of Bruno Fernandes, Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix, Diogo Jota, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva has given them an imposing array of depth and talent.

And yet Ronaldo remains the superstar to which the rest look for inspiration, he is the relentless goalscorer with an elite mentality like no other.

Juventus may be struggling this season but the legendary No7 has plundered 34 goals in 41 games (and counting) for the Old Lady in 2020/21 - deterioration is not really his thing.

Ronaldo's pedigree is firmly established but will Dream Team Euros gaffers be put off by his fixtures?

Portugal are very much in the 'Group of Death' this summer alongside France, Germany and Hungary in Group F.

If the last year of results are anything to go off then it's Die Mannschaft who should be most worried about a premature exit - Germany's 6-0 defeat to Spain and shock 2-1 loss to North Macedonia are fresh in the memory.

The main issue for Dream Team Euros bosses is not whether they should devote £7.0m of their budget to Ronaldo, but how much would they regret NOT selecting him?
