THIS is the moment a Newcastle fan confronts Mike Ashley in the street "for ruining his club" and urges the hated owner to sell up.

Instagram user @bigugs_ uploaded the video to his profile yesterday when apparently in Westminster.

Billionaire Ashley, 55, was sitting outside a coffee shop when the fuming fan went up to him with a phone in his face.

He said: "Mike Ashley, you have ruined my club you know? Just sell us, you have ruined my club, sir.

"Just sell the club and keep it moving."

Ashley originally welcomed the supporter towards him, but when it became apparent he was venting anger said: "Thank you very much, can you go please?"

The clip ends with Ashley's pal urging the fan to go away.

Other supporters were split on the Toon fan's approach to the boss, who has been accused of not having the club's best interests at heart and failing to invest sufficiently.

One said: "I would have said a LOT more than this to him. I don't know how your boy kept his cool.

"More of this please, folks. If you see him out and about... tell him how you feel."

'ASHLEY WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY HATED THIS'

A fellow user wrote: "Hats off to the lad, Ashley would have absolutely hated this."

Another comment read: "Look how red and uneasy he looks, the man knows. Karma will catch up with him one day."

But some disagreed.

One posted: "Almiron £21m. Joelinton £40m. Saint-Maximin £18m. That’s not ruining a club, your club is one of the best run in England but because you're not a Man City you think you deserve better."

Another said: "He gave your managers £60M THIS YEAR for two strikers who haven’t scored yet. How would you feel if that was your money?"

A fellow user wrote: "Absolutely despicable, so rude! They can’t even let him have lunch."

Another comment read: "Trying being a Blackburn, Coventry, Bury, Bolton fan... Spending £40 million on one player, mid table PL club and it’s ‘ruined’ #YouHaveNoIdea."

Newcastle fans - who recently had Peter Beardsley banned after racially abusing a young player - continued their protest against Ashley by staying away from the drab 0-0 draw against Brighton on Saturday.

The official attendance was given as 43,316 - St James' Park's lowest Premier League figure since 2010.

SunSport reported this summer how Newcastle owner Ashley was in talks to sell the club to the Bin Zayed Group - fronted up by multi-billionaire Sheikh Khaled.

The group claimed they had already provided proof of funding to the Premier League and even reassured desperate Newcastle fans that the purchase was going ahead.

But all talk of new beginnings has gone quiet in recent weeks, and the embattled Ashley remains at the helm.
