Barcelona chief Eric Abidal ‘watches Napoli star Fabian Ruiz’ as Catalans look to make transfer bid for midfielder

BARCELONA director of football Eric Abidal reportedly attended Napoli's clash with Lecce on Sunday to watch star midfielder, Fabian Ruiz.
The 23-year-old has popped up on the radars of a host of European giants including Real Madrid and Liverpool after a breakout year in Italy last season.
The Spanish No8 has been instrumental in much of Carlo Ancelotti's side's success recently - including the 2-0 win over Liverpool last week.
He then scored his first Serie A goal of the season against Lecce as Napoli made it three straight wins in all competitions.
And as pictured by , Barcelona chief Abidal was in the stands to watch Ruiz net a magnificent solo goal in the 4-1 win.
The Spanish outlet also adds that the Catalans could also be tracking Kalidou Koulibaly, who also attracted interest from Manchester United in the summer.
Ancelotti was asked about the possibility of Ruiz being scouted after the game and said: "I greeted Abidal when I saw him, but Fabian is fine here."

The midfielder remains under contract at the San Paolo Stadium stadium until 2023, after only moving to Naples last year for £27million after 14 years at Real Betis.
Through 20 starts in Serie A, the two-cap Spain international scored five goals and provided four assists.
Ever since he burst onto the scene, Barcelona's rivals Real Madrid have also been interested in a move to bring Ruiz back to Spain.
