JOSE MOURINHO admits his Manchester United were bad last season but claims they are no better now after their shambolic defeat to West Ham.

Former United boss Mourinho saw his side thrashed 3-1 at the London Stadium a year ago, a display which began the slide in form which led to his sacking.

And he pulled no punches after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men turned in another shocking display in the capital as the Hammers ran out easy 2-0 winners.

Mourinho told Sky Sports: "No positives. I can’t find any.

"We were bad last season but I don't see any improvement this season even with three new players.

"And I have to say they are players with a positive impact, I like the three - they are bringing some good quality to the team.

"But the team as a team I don’t like at all.

"I am not surprised by the result, Ole cannot take any positives from the game."

The defeat was United's second of the season, and leaves them already playing catch-up in their battle to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Things were so bad during the game that one United supporter was spotted having fallen asleep.

And the match brought even more problems for Solskjaer when he lost Marcus Rashford to a groin injury.

The striker's injury means United are now without a recognised front-line attacker with Anthony Martial also sidelined.
