MANCHESTER UNITED have named Daniel James in the starting XI for the trip to West Ham - but Mason Greenwood misses out with tonsilitis.

The Welsh winger was believed to have had a knock, but he has recovered and is fit to start.

But Greenwood, who scored the winner in the Europa League tie against Astana in midweek, hasn't made the bench.

It means boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named the same team as the one that sneaked a 1-0 home win against Leicester last time out in the Premier League.

Speaking before the game, Solskjaer told Sky Sports: "He’s not feeling well, he’s got tonsillitis. Hopefully it won’t be too bad."

SunSport hinted that Greenwood would miss the trip to the London Stadium as he was a notable absentee as the squad boarded the train down to the capital.

The England youth international was not pictured with his team-mates on Saturday afternoon as the club headed down south to face the Hammers.

Three players that will have no part in the clash against Manuel Pellegrini's men are Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw.

The trio haven't been able to shake off their respective injuries in time.

Asked if Pogba and Martial are ready to play, Solskjaer said on Friday: "Not really, no. They’ve not been training yet so I don’t think so. [Luke] won’t be ready."
