Now sporting director Michael Zorc has admitted the star’s suitors were in fact the Premier League club.

He made the revelation during the latest edition of Amazon’s “All or Nothing” series, a documentary titled Inside Borussia Dortmund.

Zorc confirmed a meeting with United officials occurred over a possible transfer deal.

However, he also declared his confidence the ex-Man City youth ace would stay.

He says: “A hot topic right now is Sancho and Manchester United, both his discussions with the club and mine with the consultants.

“A meeting did take place. Manchester United invited the consultant.

“But according to what I know, the consultant told the club that no matter how much money they offer, we won’t let him go this summer.

“But the player also has no intention of taking that step this summer.”

Sancho sensational form in the Bundesliga has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe, with United believed to be leading the chase.

City, who lost Sancho to Dortmund in 2017, are also believed to have a buy-back option for the forward.

However, United have been linked with launching a huge £100m swoop for the starlet in January.

Sancho has recently refused to rule out a return to the Prem, admitting “he wouldn’t mind” moving back to England.

Fresh reports have also claimed he is close to agreeing a double-your-money extension at Dortmund, which would be worth around £10m-a-year.

No player in Europe has created more assists – 18 – in top level football than Sancho since the start of last season and he has already bagged three goals this campaign.
