Christian Eriksen ‘always happy’ at Spurs despite transfer talk, claims Mauricio Pochettino

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is “happy” at Spurs despite failing to secure a summer transfer out of North London.

The Danish international rocked last season’s Champions League finalists by declaring his desire for a “new challenge” in June.

That led to intense speculation throughout the window with both Manchester United and Real Madrid keen on securing the 27-year-old attacker.

A move away never materialised and Eriksen is now in the final year of his contract Tottenham, meaning he can leave on a free at the end of the season.

However, despite still being at the Premier League club, his manager Mauricio Pochettino insists his playmaker is not unhappy.

Eriksen has started twice and made two substitute appearances this season.

He has only played one full game, but scored in the 2-2 draw at neighbours Arsenal before the recent international break.
