CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is “happy” at Spurs despite failing to secure a summer transfer out of North London.
The Danish international rocked last season’s Champions League finalists by declaring his desire for a “new challenge” in June.
That led to intense speculation throughout the window with both Manchester United and Real Madrid keen on securing the 27-year-old attacker.
A move away never materialised and Eriksen is now in the final year of his contract Tottenham, meaning he can leave on a free at the end of the season.
However, despite still being at the Premier League club, his manager Mauricio Pochettino insists his playmaker is not unhappy.
The Argentine said: “He never said he was not happy here - he always was.
“I said before the Arsenal game that he was in the right mind - that's why I selected him for that game and I will continue to select him.
“He has always been such an important player for us and he will continue to be.”

Eriksen has started twice and made two substitute appearances this season.
He has only played one full game, but scored in the 2-2 draw at neighbours Arsenal before the recent international break.
The ex-Ajax ace will be hoping for more action and to add to that total when Spurs entertain Crystal Palace on Saturday.
