Bernd Leno taunts Spurs and Chelsea as he claims Arsenal are only club worth playing for in London
BERND LENO has joined in on the constant battle for footballing supremacy in London by claiming Arsenal is 'THE club' in the city.
Leno, 27, joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen last summer in a £22.5million deal as the long-term replacement for the now-retired Petr Cech.
The German is now settled as Arsenal's No 1 and is happy to fan the flames of the Gunners' rivalry with Tottenham and Chelsea.
Leno told German outlet Sport Bild: "You can't compare, of course Arsenal is a world club, THE club here in London.
"Not Chelsea, not Tottenham - Arsenal is the club here with fans around the world."
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last season, behind both Chelsea and Tottenham, and were denied Europa League triumph by the Blues in the final in Baku.
It means they will play Europa League football again while their two London rivals will play in the Champions League group stages.
But Leno has been impressed by Arsenal's global reach since joining the club a year ago.
Leno added: "No matter where we are, also in the USA or in Asia, there are many fans of Arsenal everywhere."
UEFA might have reinforced that feeling of superiority with the latest release of their coefficient rankings.
