Man Utd stars glad to see the back of ‘wildly overpaid’ Alexis Sanchez after outcast’s Inter Milan loan
MANCHESTER UNITED’S stars are glad to see the back of Alexis Sanchez.
They believed he was wildly overpaid and undeserving of his mammoth £505,000-a-week salary.
One player repeatedly complained: “He was no Messi so why pay him all that dough.”
The Chilean flop, 30, sealed a loan move to Inter Milan last week after a disastrous 19 months at Old Trafford.
In total, Sanchez scored just five times in 45 appearances for the Red Devils since his high-profile 2018 transfer from Arsenal.
United are believed to be subsidising around £400k-a-week of his wages to get him out of the door.
Yet, speaking after completing his move to Italy, Sanchez insisted he does not regret moving to the North West in the first place.
He added: “I’m very happy I went to Manchester United. I’ve always said that. It’s the club that’s won the most in England.
“When I went to Arsenal it was fantastic – I was happy there – but United were growing at the time, they were buying players to win something.
“I wanted to join them and win everything. I don’t regret going there.
“I was happy at Manchester United too, but I’ve always said to my friends: I want to play.
“If they would let me play I’ll do my best. Sometimes I’d play 60 minutes then I wouldn’t play the next game – and I didn’t know why.”
