Tottenham contract rebel Christian Eriksen could make Trippier reunion as Atletico Madrid step up transfer pursuit
ATLETICO MADRID have reportedly entered the race for Tottenham contract rebel Christian Eriksen.
Spanish newspaper AS claims the Danish playmaker, 27, is wanted by Diego Simeone on a free transfer next summer.
And Atletico will approach Eriksen when he enters the final six months of his deal in January after the Dane failed to secure a move away from North London last month.
Mauricio Pochettino admitted he was left worried by Eriksen’s desire to leave Spurs before the European transfer window slammed shut earlier this week.
Juventus were strongly linked with a late bid but a move failed to materialise.
And the midfielder has since revealed his frustration at failing to find a new club.
SunSport understands Manchester United are plotting a big-money bid in January to tempt Spurs into selling.
But Eriksen looks set to have a host of other elite European clubs knocking at his door if he is prepared to see out the remainder of the season at Tottenham.
Real Madrid, Juve, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are all keen on signing him on a free transfer.
But with Atletico already leading the race for the La Liga title, Eriksen could decide that his future lies at the Wanda Metropolitano.
