Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has opted against starting Eriksen in two of their last three Premier League fixtures leaving his future further in doubt.

Eriksen, 27, has made it no secret of his desire to play for Real Madrid but it hasn't prevented Spurs launching one final last-ditch attempt to keep him for the long-term.

report that Tottenham have put a £200,000-a-week deal on the table which would make him the second highest paid player at the club behind Harry Kane.

But Eriksen is ready to stand firm and let his contract run down so he can leave on the cheap with Barcelona also a possibility.

Spurs had a £50million price-tag on his head which has put off potential suitors so far considering he would be available for nothing in 12-months time.

They could be willing to lower their value in order for him to leave before September 2 and Poch admitted he doesn't know if he has played his final game for the club.

Speaking after the shock 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle, he said: "I don't know. It's so difficult.
