Fuming Schmeichel calls on Man Utd to sell flops before transfer deadline after shock defeat to Crystal Palace
PETER SCHMEICHEL has called on Manchester United to flog their flop stars after their dismal defeat to Crystal Palace.
United legend Schmeichel was left fuming at watching the side crash to a shock loss at home to Roy Hodgson's men.
And the ex-goalkeeper did not hide his feelings about what he thinks about the standard of some of those on show for the Red Devils.
The 55-year-old took to social media to make it clear that there are player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side who just aren't good enough.
And he called on the club to work hard to clear them out of Old Trafford before the transfer window around Europe shuts on September 2.
Schmeichel tweeted: "There is hope, international transfer window is open for sales until September 2nd."
He then finished his message with three angry red-faced emojis before tagging his tweet for the attention of United themselves.
Being humbled by a team like Palace has knocked the wind out of any early season hopes of an improved campaign after the disappointment of last year.
The opening day victory over Chelsea flattered them, and they also struggled at times in the draw against Wolves.
But the loss to Palace, despite enjoying huge amounts of possession, exposed the limitations in Solskjaer's squad creatively.

They struggled to break down a well organised defence despite their dominance of the ball, and were caught by sucker punches on the break.
But it is unlikely the club will be about to sell many players before the window closes in eight days, other than fringe stars like Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian.
Instead they have to start searching for new faces in January, with Leicester playmaker James Maddison already in their sights.
