Real Madrid chiefs make last-ditch attempt to sign Neymar as they fly representatives to Paris to negotiate transfer

REAL MADRID are not giving up on their hopes of signing Neymar and have flown representatives to Paris to try and negotiate a stunning transfer, according to reports.

The wantaway Paris Saint-Germain forward remains in a transfer tug-of-war between Zinedine Zidane's side and fierce rivals Barcelona.

Just as it appeared as though the Brazilian would make a sensational return to Barca, Real Madrid are ready to gazump the La Liga champions.

Reports yesterday claimed that the Nou Camp chiefs lodged a loan bid with the option to make the move permanent for £137million next summer.

And although PSG are prepared to let Neymar leave on loan, they want a £200m fee to let him leave permanently next summer.

According to Marca, Real are starting to surge ahead and are trying to negotiate a deal.

It is understood Zidane's side will be able to offer a better financial package including offering Neymar a healthier wage packet.

Both Barca and Real have spent big this summer but Los Blancos have also sanctioned the sales of £100m worth of talent.

Barca meanwhile reportedly plummeted to £800m in debt this summer after signing Antoine Griezmann for £108m from Atletico Madrid and paying £65m to Ajax for Frenkie de Jong in January.

PSG have demanded Raphael Varane and Vinicius Jr in part of a swap deal but Real are not willing to lose either player.
