ARSENAL reportedly fear that it was a mistake to allow teenage starlet Yunus Musah to join Valencia this summer.

The 16-year-old signed a two-year deal with the La Liga side following an impressive campaign for the Gunners' U18s last season.

Musah was a key member of the side that won the U18 Premier League as he chipped in with four goals and three assists in 15 games.

But the midfielder - who was born in New York in 2002 - turned down a scholarship from the North Londoners in order to make the move to Spain.

The player was involved in first team training for Valencia on Tuesday.

According to , Valencia boss Marcelino wanted to see Musah in action first hand, with the Spaniard impressed by what he saw.

They also state that those in charge at the Emirates are disappointed that the youngster has left, believing it is a "serious mistake" to allow him to go.

Musah was initially signed to be a part of Valencia's U19 squad, but has been playing regularly for the reserves since his arrival.

Arsenal have allowed an array of youngsters to depart this summer, most notably Xavier Amaechi to Hamburg for £2.25million.

Left-back Dominic Thompson - who was part of the clubs pre-season tour of the US - was sold to Brentford to £3million.

While Vontae Daley-Campbell, 18, joined Leicester, Charlie Gilmour, 20, signed for Norwich, Spanish defender Julio Pleguezuelo linked up with FC Twente and Bayli Spencer-Adams moved to Watford.
