Claudio Bravo set to quit Man City at end of season on free transfer when contract runs out
CLAUDIO BRAVO is set to quit Manchester City at the end of the season on a free transfer.
The Chilean goalkeeper is out-of-contract next summer, and there are no plans to extend his deal.
The 36-year-old missed the whole of last year with a ruptured Achilles, but impressed in pre-season.
But he is behind Ederson in the pecking order, and only set to feature in the EFL and FA Cup.
An Etihad source said: “Claudio is set to walk away from the club. There are no plans in the pipeline to discuss an extension.
“He knows he has zero chance of forcing his way past Ederson in the pecking order, outside of the domestic cups.
“Pep still has a lot of faith in him despite losing his place during his first season after some dodgy incidents.
“At this stage, both parties are comfortable with the whole contract situation and it’s all amicable.”
The ex-Barcelona ace was the penalty shoot-out hero in the Community Shield win over Liverpool at Wembley.
City allowed prospect Ari Muric to join Nottingham Forest on loan this season, and he is seen as one for the future.
It is understood there has already been interest in signing Bravo from back in Spain.
He arrived from Barcelona in 2016 for £16m and is thought to be on around £120,000-a-week.
