Roma legend De Rossi gets hero’s welcome on home debut for Boca Juniors as Tevez scores in win over Aldosivi
DANIELE DE ROSSI was given a hero’s welcome as he made his home debut for Boca Juniors.
The former Roma midfielder was greeted with banners and cheers from the legendary Bombanera crowd as the Argentine giants beat Aldosivi 2-0.
Ex-Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez scored the opener on 34 minutes before sub Eduardo Salvio doubled their lead 12 minutes from time.
Boca, who came third in the Superliga Argentina last season, trail River Plate and Arsenal de Sarandi after three games.
De Rossi scored on his debut against Almagro with a bullet header last week.
Despite the dream start Boca suffered a shock defeat as they crashed out of the Copa Argentina.
Boca managed to fluff their lines, drawing 1-1 before losing 3-1 on penalties.
