CHELSEA fans have demanded Frank Lampard hand Michy Batshuayi a chance in their next game after Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud failed to impress against Leicester.

The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw in Super Frank’s first game at Stamford Bridge, with the visitors dominating the second half and having numerous chances to score a late winner.

Giroud started for the second consecutive game after scoring in the Super Cup final against Liverpool on Wednesday.

But the Frenchman was largely ineffective against Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes and was subbed off midway through the second half.

Abraham was given a chance to redeem himself after his penalty miss against Liverpool saw Chelsea lose out on silverware.

But the youngster failed to make any sort of impact and his game was summed up by an atrocious effort from outside the box which went flying miles over the bar.

Giroud and Abraham have both been Lampard’s choices in attack for his first three games as Blues boss.

And it means Belgium international Batshuayi was once again left to watch in the stands after failing to make the bench.

Many Chelsea fans regard the ex-Crystal Palace loanee as the best natural finisher at Lampard’s disposal.

And they are now urging their former midfield maestro to start Batshuayi in next weekend’s clash at Norwich City, with a lack of goals quickly emerging as one of Chelsea’s biggest problems.

One supporter tweeted: “Give Batshuayi a chance. Literally anything but Abraham. I rooted for him to score today but he really is a Championship player, sorry.”

Another said: “How’s Giroud and Abraham considered better than Batshuayi? Just how please?”

One wrote: “After that stinker I genuinely believe Michy Batshuayi deserves a chance, he can’t be worse than what the other strikers have offered today.”

Another proclaimed: “Batshuayi needs to get some game time now, it’s enough.”

One added: “OK I’m sick of Tammy now. Batshuayi let’s go!”
