Bury star Stephen Dawson ‘on verge of losing his house’ over club’s financial crisis
BURY midfielder Stephen Dawson revealed he is on the verge of losing his house amid the financial crisis threatening to kill the club.
Controversial owner Steve Dale vehemently denied the Irishman's claim in an explosive live-on-air row between the pair on TalkSport.
Dawson, 33, told host Jim White he and his teammates had not been paid properly for five months.
Given the chance to confront his boss, Dawson said: "Listen chairman, let’s cut to the chase – you haven’t bothered paying us in months.
ON THE VERGE
“I’m on the verge of losing everything.
"I’ve had to listen to what you’ve had to say for months, you can say you’ve tried to save the club but, at the end of it all, get your money and leave the club otherwise this club is no more."
But Dale was having none of it and hit back: "Do you truly believe that remark? That Mr Dawson cannot feed his family and is getting thrown out of his house?
“Everything with you guys is blow it to the maximum.
"Mr Dawson’s not going to get thrown out of his house and he can feed his family!”
Dale's defence was almost too much for Dawson who simply said: "There you go, there you go. What he’s just said there has summed up what a man and human being he is.
If I lose my job next week, my house is gone

"If I lose my job next week, my house is gone simple as that and I’ll tell you that man to man now.
“He’s just told lies for six months, he doesn’t pay anyone and if he has the chance to sell the club I’m begging him to sell it.”
League One Bury had their fourth consecutive match called off on Tuesday as the Shakers once again could not prove their financial viability to the EFL.
On Tuesday, Gigg Lane looked like a ghost town, with all gates closed and locked, and the club shop empty.
Bury face a deadline of August 23 to avoid being expelled from the Football League.
Just three days ago, Dale exclusively revealed to SunSport he plans to sell the club.
"I’ve decided it’s my intention to sell Bury FC due to the continued battle with the EFL and recent events which have affected my health,” Dale said.
“I’ve been told there is a buyer but no one has approached me yet.
“But I am happy to sell. We’ve arranged a CVA where non-football creditors get 25p in the pound. If they continue with that, they’re up and running.
“I was footing the bill for that. Now the new buyer must do that.

SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month Dale received death threats, while his daughter received a parcel of POO in response to his perceived mismanagement of the club.
