ALEXIS SANCHEZ'S incredible Manchester United slump has made him the worst signing in Premier League history.
The highest paid player in the league, 30, has been relegated to the reserves and told he can leave on loan before the European transfer windows shut on September 2.
Former Arsenal star Sanchez has banked £41MILLION in wages for Manchester United — for three Prem goals and two in the FA Cup.
His time at United has resulted in 641 minutes of league football per goal, a damning stat if ever there was one.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now happy to banish Sanchez to the fringes of Carrington's activity, wanting zero negativity around the first-team squad.
Sanchez's shots rate per 90 minutes have nearly halved and his possession won in the final third has dropped to nearly a third of what it was at Arsenal.
Elsewhere his dribbles per 90 minutes are worse, as are his touches in a game compared to his time in North London.
Two areas he HAS improved at United are fouls won per 90 minutes and his dribbles success rate.
Not that this has been enough to save the Chilean from the chop.
For the sort of money United are paying him, he should have fired them into the Champions League last season, but instead he dragged his heels and his team down.

United's woes are not entirely his fault, though — Romelu Lukaku's goals dried up at the end of last season, while their leaky defence gave nobody at the club any confidence.
Add in Solskjaer's moans about the players' fitness and you have a bad picture.
He is the latest in a long line of big-money flops at United since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, along with Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao.
