Arsenal got off to a winning start at St James' Park - beating Steve Bruce's side 1-0 thanks to a second-half strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But Unai Emery now faces games at home to Burnley, away to Liverpool and a North London derby at home to bitter rivals Spurs without the frightened pair.

SAFETY FEARS

London based gangs are said to be connected to the incidents and Arsenal are concerned the matter may become an ongoing issue, according to The

A London mob attacked the teammates in Golders Green and attempted to steal their expensive watches before Kolasinac bravely fought them off.

The gang in question are said to be are at odds with a rival Eastern European gang, unknown to the footballers, who have vowed to ward off further attacks.

But the moped attackers are refusing to be intimidated and two men were arrested outside Ozil's £9million Camden home on Thursday under the Public Order Act.

Ferhat Ercan and Salaman Ekinci, both 27, are due to appear in court on September 6.

HIDING

Ozil and Kolasinac are said to be deeply concerned that last month's attempted mugging has rolled into something bigger and the German star installed 24-hour security - including guard dogs - outside his house as a result.

Ozil hasn't been since in recent days having gone into hiding.

And Kolasinac's wife is said to have fled back to Germany in fear for her safety vowing never to return.

Given the Gunners' obligation to protect their players' safety while on club duty the pair are now under 24-hour security protection.

And speaking after the Newcastle game, Emery confirmed the players would be out indefinitely.
