OLE GUNNER SOLSKJAER launched a "brutal" verbal attack on Romelu Lukaku, it's been claimed, as more details of the collapse of their relationship emerges.
Before his move to Inter Milan, Lukaku angered his boss and Manchester United teammates when revealing the confidential results of a sprint speed test.
The stats showed the Belgian topping the charts with Luke Shaw, who came bottom, publicly rebuking his colleague.
But, according to , Lukaku received a much stronger condemnation from Solskjaer.
It is said the manager delivered a "brutal" verbal attack on the wantaway forward.
Sun Sport revealed yesterday how Lukaku's lack of discipline resulted in a bust-up with Solskjaer's assistant, Mike Phelan.
After the 26-year-old failed to show up for the bus to the friendly with Spurs in Shanghai, Phelan ordered it to leave without him before delivering a stark dressing down.
Finally getting his wish to leave on Thursday after Inter stumped up £76.5million, Lukaku had been punished twice by United in the final days of his stay.
He was fined two weeks' wages for absconding to train with Anderlecht - an apparently unauthorised excursion according to the club - before a smaller punishment was handed down for the stats leak.
OPEN AND HONEST
Speaking today, Solskjaer said he had an "open and honest" relationship with Lukaku but there is "no issue between them."
Speaking ahead of his side's game with Chelsea this weekend, he said: “It was time now for Rom to go because I think we got a good deal, he's happy so I think both parties ended that deal as it should be.
“I have always had a good relationship with Rom, open and honest.
“We've spoken to each other openly and frankly and there is no issue between me and Rom.
“He was injured for a while this pre-season, didn't participate so I just hope for him he’ll get a good start at Inter Milan.”
