Arsenal ‘agree £8m transfer fee with Chelsea for David Luiz’ with centre-back to sign two-year deal
ARSENAL are reportedly set to sign David Luiz on a two-year deal after agreeing an £8million fee with Chelsea.
Gunners chiefs are keen to replace Laurent Koscielny and have turned their attention to the experienced Brazilian, 32.
Now, BBC journalist David Ornstein is reporting that Luiz will have a medical today before completing a deadline-day switch.
Yesterday SunSport revealed Kieran Tierney, 22, is heading to the Emirates to sign a five-year contract if he passes his medical.
Luiz only signed a new two-year contract at Stamford Bridge in May but Frank Lampard is prepared to cut him loose and let the player go.
The Blues will save millions in wages, which will be used when their transfer embargo ends.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will have had a superb window if they complete the double swoop with Unai Emery reshaping his squad.
Record-signing Nicolas Pepe, Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos and Brazil starlet Gabriel Martinelli will add creativity up top.
While the additions of Luiz and Tierney should improve the Gunners' leaky back line, which was their Achilles heel last season.
