Harry Maguire’s lack of entourage impresses Man Utd as Pogba becomes the first team-mate to greet the £85m signing

HARRY MAGUIRE’S lack of personal entourage impressed Manchester United chiefs when he turned up at the Carrington training complex to sign his seven-year deal.

Despite becoming the world’s most expensive defender, the club were impressed by his down-to-earth attitude after penning a contract worth £69million.

, United have been frustrated in the past when big name signings turn up in a large group of around six or seven people.

But first impressions suggest Maguire is exactly the type of character boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been after.

When Maguire was first called up to the England squad two years ago, he arrived holding two bin bags full of his clothes.

It shows that despite his wealth, Maguire doesn’t feel the need to splurge on material items.

The same can’t be said for new team-mate Paul Pogba who was the first player to meet him at the training ground.

Pogba and Maguire had a £174million handshake before chatting. Maguire then went to complete a light training session under the watchful eye of Solskjaer.

Maguire has hit the jackpot after agreeing an initial six-year deal with the option of an extra year.

His new £190,000-a-week wage packet is a £115,000 pay rise on what he was earning at Leicester.
