SESS WAR

Marseille ready to hijack Spurs’ £25m Ryan Sessegnon transfer from Fulham

MARSEILLE are reportedly ready to hijack Tottenham’s move for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

But the French giants could be priced out of a deal for the England U21 international.

Marseille are plotting an ambitious swoop for Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon

claim the Ligue 1 outfit have ambitiously targeted the 19-year-old left-back.

Marseille’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is a big admirer of the youngster.

And he is convinced the starlet has the potential to reach the very top.

However, the club are believed to only have around £14million to spend – which falls way short of Fulham’s valuation.

And that puts Spurs in the driving seat as they attempt to push through a £25m transfer before Thursday’s deadline day.

The teenager wants to leave Craven Cottage following the West London side’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

He was left out of Scott Parker’s squad for the 1-0 defeat at Barnsley in Fulham’s Championship opener on Saturday.

Spurs and the Cottagers have been at loggerheads over a fee even though Sessegnon has made it clear he wants sign for Mauricio Pochettino.

With speculation growing that Danny Rose could leave, the Argentine tactician doesn’t want to be left short of options at left back.

Fulham had still been hoping Sessegnon would sign a new contract but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is looking to complete a deal for between £20million and £25m.
