United also have the option to extend his deal by an extra year which mean he is likely to be playing at the Theatre of Dreams at least until the summer of 2026.

It caps a meteoric rise for the 26-year-old who travelled to Euro 2016 as a fan to watch the Three Lions and was on around £75,000-a-week at Leicester.

And he has been rewarded with a deal that will see him pocket a fortune during his time in Manchester.

, Maguire's contract will see him earn £190,000-a-week which means his total income will top £69m.

He will waste no time spending it and is already eyeing up a huge mansion for his young family in the north.

Maguire and fiancee Fern have been dating since the pair were teenagers in Sheffield and he proposed last year.

Fern gave birth to the couple's first child in April - exactly nine months after England beat Colombia on penalties at the World Cup.

Speaking on his move, Maguire said: "I'm delighted to have signed for this great club. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past two seasons.

"However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.

"From my conversations with the manager, I am excited about the vision and plans he has for the team. It’s clear to see that Ole is building a team to win trophies.

"I am now looking forward to meeting my new teammates and getting the season started."
