But in an eye-opening interview with the 29-year-old made comments that go against his nice-guy image.

Asked his thoughts on PSG's reputation abroad, the Spaniard said: "That of a giant!

'MOST HATED CLUBS IN FRANCE'

"A respected club, which has class and a club that has three or four of the best players in the world.

"I also know it is one of the most hated clubs in France, and I like that."

Herrera was a popular figure during his time at Old Trafford but was not convinced he would have much of a role to play under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Although he did claim the Norwegian tried to make him stay.

'CLASSY AND GLAMOROUS'

Despite hints he would have liked to remain in Manchester, Herrera spoke of his admiration for his new side.

Asked why he chose PSG, Herrera said: "The club has a classy and glamorous side that I like a lot.

"I also wanted to continue playing for a big club and I did not see myself evolving at another English club.

"When you have played for Manchester United, it's hard to go anywhere else.

"PSG is a project that is constantly progressing and the way Paris approached me was impeccable. I felt wanted.

"Thomas (Tuchel) called me several times to talk.

"He is someone who helps players to be better and at twenty-nine, I always want to progress."
