MANCHESTER UNITED are close to signing Christian Eriksen after fellow target Bruno Fernandes set his heart on Tottenham.
That's the claim from Spain as say Spurs playmaker Eriksen is now willing to join United rather than wait for Real Madrid.
Midfield goal machine Fernandes, 24, has been linked with both Manchester giants but the suggest he is more excited by Champions League finalists Tottenham.
But United's Paul Pogba, 26, could still be the key in a major transfer chain amongst some of Europe's biggest clubs.
Real are reportedly still pondering on bidding up to £150million for the French World Cup winner - despite Jose Mourinho doing his best to thwart the move.
And if that happens United would surely be even keener to complete a deal for £60m-rated Eriksen, 27.
say the Dane, who has one year left on his Spurs contract, is "seriously considering" a five-year offer from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.

The main stumbling block for Portugal star Fernandes would be the fee
Spurs and United are both thought to value him at around £35m, way short of Sporting's demand for nearer £64m.
But United have just spent £85m to make Leicester's England ace Harry Maguire the world's costliest defender.
And wantaway Old Trafford striker Romelu Lukaku is training with Anderlecht as he waits for Juventus or Inter Milan to firm up their interest.
The Belgian was left frustrated after United ended their pursuit of Paulo Dybala, reportedly due to the Argentine's requested wages of around £350,000.
