Romelu Lukaku trains with Anderlecht after being bombed out of Man Utd by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he awaits transfer
ROMELU LUKAKU is currently training with former club Anderlecht after being frozen out by Manchester United.
The Belgian striker has been pushing for a move away from Old Trafford all summer with Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan both in for the 26-year-old.
But with a move failing to materialise the United forward has returned to Anderlecht, the club where he began his professional career, as his transfer saga continues.
Journalist Kristof Terreur shared the picture of Lukaku in Anderlecht training gear and claims Old Trafford bosses desperately want to sell the player.
It’s understood the Manchester United players had a day off today.
The club will expect him back at Carrington tomorrow.
The former Everton hitman missed his sixth pre-season game in a row when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side played AC Milan in Cardiff on Saturday as he is said to be struggling with an ankle injury.
New Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte – who tried to sign the powerhouse in 2016 for Chelsea – made Lukaku a priority signing this summer.
Conte failed with a bid of £54m as Old Trafford chiefs demanded the £75m fee they paid Everton for the striker two-years ago.
As discussions with Inter seemingly crumbled, ex-Chelsea boss and new Juve manager Maurizio Sarri made a surprise swoop for Lukaku.
Discussions reached an advanced stage as United agreed to sell the 26-year-old in exchange for wantaway Juve forward Paulo Dybala.
However, after Dybala refused to budge on his £350,000 a week wages a swap deal collapsed and again Lukaku was left in heartache.
However, San Siro boss Conte is refusing to give up on his pursuit for the wantaway United striker and according to reports in Italy, the Nerazzurri have put £73m on the table.
