And to take the next step they’ll need someone to drive through from midfielder to score goals.
Enter Oxlade-Chamberlain.
City have more of a goal threat from midfield now but after recovering from injury the ex-Arsenal man can redress that balance.
With Roberto Firmino dropping deep, lots of space is created for someone to burst into.
When in the team Oxlade-Chamberlain, 25, will most likely be given licence to be that man supporting Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
He was given that freedom before injury struck and was really growing into that role with his power, pace and shooting ability.
And if he can stay injury free, I see no reason why the midfielder cannot provide Klopp with the final piece of the jigsaw.
