Man Utd star Pogba’s dream Real Madrid transfer in tatters as Ajax ‘agree deal to sell Van de Beek’ to Spanish giants
PAUL POGBA'S dreams of joining Real Madrid look to be in tatters amid claims the club have agreed a deal to sign Donny van de Beek.
Pogba has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer with Zinedine Zidane desperate to get him to the club in a £150million move.
Bechler wrote: "In Marca and AS, news of Real Madrid's interest in Ajax's Dutchman Van de Beek comes out.
"From what I have learned, things go further. There is already a proposal accepted by the Dutch club and player.
WHATEVER IT TAKES
"Van de Beek should sign for five or six years in the next few days. Trading has been around for days."
Should those claims be true, it would almost certainly put to bed any hopes Pogba has of quitting Old Trafford this summer.
Real's switching to Van de Beek as a plan B to Pogba was revealed this morning - but manager Zidane was against such a move.
Instead he was said to be fighting hard to insist Madrid pay whatever it takes to secure the services of the Manchester United star.
But if the reports are genuine, the manager has been overruled - for the second time this summer when it comes to major players.
Zidane was left smarting when Gareth Bale's proposed move to China was blocked by Real president Florentino Perez.
Now it appears the board might have gone against his advice by nabbing Van de Beek, 22, who helped Ajax reach the Champions League semi-finals last season.
Pogba would then be left to stay at Old Trafford a month after he admitted in public the time was right to look for a "new challenge".
