KASEY PALMER has decided to quit Chelsea and seal a permanent move to Bristol City.
Academy product Palmer had been hopeful of forcing his way into the first team picture after long being tipped for a bright future at Stamford Bridge.
But the England under-21 midfielder has accepted he is not going to get the opportunities he craves at Chelsea and decided the time is right to move on.
Palmer, 22, spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol City last year and made a huge impression on the Championship club.
And when they came in with a bid of £3.5million, it was enough for Chelsea to accept and Palmer opted to return to Ashton Gate despite interest from elsewhere.
Robins boss Lee Johnson said: “I’ve been really impressed with his application and focus over the off-season period.
“Kasey has made big sacrifices to come here and we truly believe Bristol City and Kasey will be a fantastic match moving forward.”
