Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi wanted by Monaco – but Unai Emery demanding £27.5m for bungling defender

ARSENAL flop Shkodran Mustafi is wanted by Monaco - but Unai Emery is demanding a staggering £27.5million for the bungling defender.

Reports in France claim the Ligue 1 side are keen to bring in the struggling Gunners defender in a bid to fix their leaky defence.

Monaco shipped 57 goals in their 38 league games last term as they avoided relegation by just two points.

The horror run saw Leonardo Jardim leave the club and be replaced by Thierry Henry - only for the Arsenal legend to be sacked and replaced by Jardim.

While Monaco are keen to bring in Mustafi, they could yet be put off with Arsenal keen to recoup most of the £35m they paid Valencia for him in 2016.

The German defender, 27, has played 82 times in the Premier League since then, scoring seven times.

But his form in recent years, particularly last season, was worryingly poor as he made error after error - more often than not leading to goals for the opposition.

"THANK YOU, JESUS"

Needless to say, a large chunk of Arsenal fans are thrilled at the latest rumours - with some supporters booing Mustafi as he came off the bench in the 2-1 pre-season loss to Lyon.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Thank you JESUS for A PRAYER answered.....Please just give them, I will pay the money".

Another pleaded: "Please they can skip the formalities and take him already......."

A third joked: "So, are we the ones paying €30m to get rid of him?"
