Mesut Ozil reveals he is ‘all good’ after attempted carjacking – as Arsenal fans call for Kolasinac statue for fighting off armed gang

MESUT OZIL has broken his silence following the dramatic armed ambush and declared everybody involved are "all good."

Thugs attempted an armed robbery outside the German's £3million house in London before team-mate Sead Kolasinac bravely fought them off with his bare hands.

Inside Ozil's £100,000 Mercedes at the time were the two Arsenal players and both of their wives.

The attack then led to a one-mile chase before they eventually came to halt at a Turkish restaurant called Likya in Golders Green.

Even when midfielder Ozil's car came stopped, the helmet-wearing raiders launched stones and a brick at the 4x4's windows.

Police were eventually called where they quizzed the midfielder on the dramatic events outside the restaurant.

Up until now only Kolasinac spoke out over the incident but Ozil has now had his say.

In a brief interview with Sky News, he said: "We are good, me, Seo and my wife are all good, thank you."

When asked whether the ordeal was scary, Ozil added: "It was different, but it's OK now."

Meanwhile Arsenal fans want to reward Kolasinac's bravery by joking that he should have a statue erected in his honour.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "Suffice to say I'm speaking to Vinai tomorrow and want this statue outside Emirates immediately."

Another joked: "Given that we are ready to erect a statue at the Emirates for Kolasinac, is saving Mesut Ozil from a carjacking the only way back for Shkodran Mustafi at this point?"

A third added: "Up his wages make him captain, give him a statue and sign a pre-contract for him to be manager when he has retired."

Ozil, on £350,000-a-week, is known for his love of lavish timepieces - last year splashing £30,000 on a special-edition "Invincible" Rolex watch made in collaboration with Thierry Henry.

He also owns £6,600 special edition titanium Cyrus Kuros watch - although it isn't clear what the thieves were trying to steal.
