'Fizzy drink'

Ince blasts Rashford, calls Martial ‘a fizzy drink’ and says Lingard is ‘diabolical’ in astonishing attack from the Man Utd legend

PAUL INCE has slammed a number of Manchester United stars in a blistering attack on his old club.

The former Red Devil went to town on some of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s key performers, including Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Ince believes United’s current attackers are not good enough to play for the club

Ince believes United’s attack is not good enough to compete for Man City’s Premier League title.

And he believes Solskjaer should be looking to sign new forwards instead of an elite centre-back.

United finished 6th in the league last term, missing out on Champions League football in the process.

And they have so far made just two signings this summer in the forms of winger Daniel James and right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Solskjaer is now reportedly closing in on an £80million deal for Leicester centre-half Harry Maguire.

While Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes could also arrive at the Theatre of Dreams before deadline day.

PAUL THE OTHER ONE

However, Ince believes United should be looking to bring in new attacking players instead.

He believes Rashford, Martial, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez fall way below the levels required to succeed at the club.

And Ince has warned Solskjaer that sticking with his current crop of forwards would be a mistake.

Ince told BBC Radio 5 Live: “You’ve got Marcus Rashford who scored 11 goals last year and gets a new contract.

“Jesse Lingard was diabolical last year, he really, really was.

“There’s Alexis Sanchez. They got nothing out of Sanchez whatsoever.

“So as much as we’re talking about Chris Smalling and Harry Maguire, surely we’ve got to be looking at who’s going to be playing up top.

“We need to be looking at that because attacking-wise they’re not great.

“Martial? He’s a fizzy drink. He pops now and then. One moment he’s great, one moment he’s not.”
